Palio experience – every day –

Hard to talk about the Palio! 🙂 Every Sienese gets nervous if listening to somebody talking about this incredible race, cause… cause it’s too intimate and everybody has his own way of expressing feelings and vibes about it..  Strange… yes it is, but so is the time in Siena where the dirt is down on the piazza, and track is ready to welcome the horses…

Which word should I use then? Mine are: drama, happiness, adrenalin, freedom, joy, party, fun, friends, community, smell, crowd, screams… and desire of winning!

More simply said: something to experience.

Now, that horse-race happens just twice a year, July 2nd and August 16th, but every day in town all districts are still working hard for preparing the even, the clubs are opened and the captains are planning their strategies in team building and connections making.

As a traveller, you’ll get the chance to learn from an insider some back stage stories, see one of the Contradas and visit the church where the horse is blessed! You’ll have the chance if you want, to meet one of the celebrity jockeys, having a coffee together. An authentic way to “taste” the passion for Palio.
